AWP foresters adhere to federal, state and local regulations regarding timber harvesting in order to design and implement the best practical harvest plans. State BMP’s (Best Management Practices) are followed and all loggers contracted by AWP meet state and local training and certification requirements. AWP forestry professionals always consider landowner objectives as the cornerstone to any harvest plan.
Using the skills, knowledge, and experience of experts from West Virginia University, Marshall University, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Cumberland Mountain Research Center of Lincoln Memorial University, The Ohio State University, US Fish and Wildlife Service, West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, and private consulting firms, AWP takes extra care to manage the conservation of threatened and endangered species on AWP timberlands.
